Why Join TMC?

The Canadian Association of Marketing Professionals (CAMP) is an organization of different types of marketers who come together to connect, learn, and grow. We are a group of leaders past, present, and future striving to collaborate, share stories, and improve our knowledge to elevate the profession and ourselves as marketers.

Our priority is to keep the marketer relevant in the constant changing business landscape while providing a trusted community to our members. Our network includes marketers at all levels from marketing executives, directors, managers, entrepreneurs, consultants, and specialists like SEO experts, graphic designers, and copywriters, agencies of all types.

Our Vision

We're is an inclusion based not for profit organization for marketers to connect, grow, and thrive, building their careers and businesses, keeping them relevant in a changing world, and ultimately, making them better marketers.

TMC offers a wide range of informative, social and cutting edge seminars to keep our marketers up to date and relevant in today’s ever changing market. CAMP hosts up to two events per month (which include seminars, workshops, webinars, and learning events) and these events are free for our members.

INFORMATION

The TMC strives to keep members informed on industry changes. While we update our members through our bi-weekly emails, we also want to encourage members to regularly check our member portal for information. We update the section ‘Whitepapers & More’ with relevant content, including information on Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), Infographics, and any other pertinent marketing information.

We also collaborate with other groups for marketing research purposes, including our 2016 Canadian Marketers Outlook Survey.

CONNECTIONS

We believe strongly in the power and strength of community, and bringing marketers together is one of the best ways to grow yourself, your company, and your career. As such, much of our focus is on networking. Networking is about making connections, while building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. Many of CAMP’s sessions include networking to bring our marketers together, and we often host pure networking sessions for our members to connect. Start Your Own Chapter

Bring the power of Internet marketing to your location! It will take some work but becoming a local organizer can help you make many connections while fulfilling the purposes of TMC. You know your city best, so we’ll leave it up to you to adapt TMC for your location. We’re pretty easy going about starting local chapters. We just want to make sure that the TMC brand continues to be respected. For that reason, we’ve laid out some guidelines.

Chapter Responsibilities

    • Understand and believe in TMC’s purposes
    • Have a local chapter organizing team. Ideally, this is at least two people. With several people on board, the work can be delegated and shared, helping to make local events as successful as they can be.
    • Find an appropriate venue
    • Local member management: Create a Meetup.com Group
    • Use the TMC logo
    • Chapters must have at least one event every three months (although a mix of events 6-12 times per year would be ideal)
    • Chapters must write a blog post to announce the event (including full details of the event, speaker info, etc.). This will be posted on the main TMC blog.
    • Chapters must write a blog post summarizing the event once the event has passed. The blog post must be submitted within 2 weeks of the event. Local chapters are encouraged to take photos so 1-2 can be posted in the blog post.

Use of TMC Logo

    • Chapters must use the TMC logo to brand events
    • You may only use the TMC Logo for event purposes
    • Co-branding your event: This must be discussed with us prior to the use of the TMC logo on any event documentation or promotion.

Chapter Sponsorship

    • Chapters are encouraged to get their own sponsorship
    • Chapters may get in-kind sponsors
    • TMC reserves the right to remove sponsorship or dissolve a chapter for inappropriate use of sponsorship funds

Local Events

    • CIMA has prepared several types of events to make them easier to plan.

Additional Info

    • CIMA chapters do not only have to be in Canada. You are welcome to create chapters around the world (for example, “CIMA Miami”)

Are you ready to organize your own local CIMA chapter? Contact us and we’ll take it from there!

Collegiate Chapters Top Marketers Society Campus Chapters actively manage their own chapters and websitenAffiliate yourself with the TMC – Form a Collegiate Chapter Affiliating a TMC Chapter on your campus can be a professionally and socially rewarding experience. All it takes is a leader to start the process! Visit AMA’s website to learn more.

What’s required to form a Collegiate Chapter?

    • Submit a petition containing the signatures of five collegiate students who are willing to become TMC members and the first members of your chapter; collegiate chapters must reach and maintain a minimum of 25 members within two years of affiliation
    • Find a faculty member on your campus who will serve as faculty advisor to the Chapter. This person must also be an AMA member.
    • Create a constitution outlining how the Chapter will operate (Don’t worry, the AMA provides you with a sample to get started!)
    • Submit the proper paperwork, the membership applications of the five people who signed the petition, and a one-time $50 USD affiliation fee to AMA Headquarters for review.

If everything is in order, the AMA will send you a Chapter Charter, recruitment and promotion materials, and helpful tools to assist you in Chapter management.
